The Chocolate Notebook®: Creative Collaboration and the Cacao Inspired Life
With over 8 years immersed in the craft chocolate industry as a consumer and aspiring business owner, I never once thought I would co-create something as exciting as The Chocolate Notebook®.
While I won’t take credit for the initial concept, that seed was planted in Lauren Heineck’s creative mind (WKND Chocolate, Well Tempered Podcast and Well Tempered FB community); as soon as we discussed the concept, I immediately loved it and wanted to help bring it to life. The creative process is messy and nerve racking but I found a way to embrace the uncertainty because it’s about chocolate! Chocolate brings me so much joy I knew that no matter what this would work out.

The Chocolate Notebook®’s open format gives the owner the freedom to write as she chooses on her own timeline.
As much as I want to keep track every week/month sometimes life just gets in the way. But I am tired of post-its and random pieces of paper to jot down tasting notes, chocolate friend’s info and swaps, or where I want to travel next for chocolate (the list seems to keep growing). Now I have a comprehensive vessel to keep it all together. With hand-drawn beautiful illustrations by Spanish illustrator Paola Ciani, this notebook is inspiring to look at and reflects our connection to cacao.

We recently released The Chocolate Notebook® to the world and so far received overwhelming positive feedback. It is wonderful and humbling to see the mutual excitement. I can’t wait for people to get them in the mail and start using it. What a beautiful surprise on my ever-evolving cacao journey.
I can only imagine what other adventures have yet to unfold.
